Pakistan is turning into a digital country at a fast rate. Zanroo, a Thailand-based technology marketing organization credited for inventing a digital media listening tool, has now ventured into Pakistan's market.

An Information Technology (IT) expert said that Pakistan is poised to acquire the first positions among the digital economies with the rapid penetration of Internet, fast-growing business and increasing population. The nation is destined to become the 4th fastest growing economy by 2030. Google also says Pakistan is rapidly becoming a 'digital-first country' that refers to several new opportunities for brands to reach and engage with consumers that might have earlier been overlooked.

In a partnership with Bramerz Group, a Lahore-based digital agency, Zanroo has entered the Pakistani social media market. Bramerz was responsible for training its engine to listen and analyze Urdu and Minglish (Roman Urdu) languages. Earlier, the engine listened and analyzed English and other languages at a very fast rate.

"We have trained the engine to listen to and analyze local languages, being used on different social media platforms by the public at large," Badar Khushnood, co-founder of Bramerz Group said. "The engine is being fed with a memory of a 10-year-old kid, which could be enhanced in a few months and generates an alert after five seconds of any listing," Khushnood said to Express Tribune.

As far as the popularity of social listening is concerned in Pakistan, it is still at the nascent stages and hardly anyone is aware of this technique. This is what believed by a representative working for a digital marketing agency in Lahore. Currently, social learning is popular in developed nations and they have already created tools that can listen to conversations in their native languages. However, this system is yet to commence in Pakistan.
