On Wednesday, a number of Amazon users received a mail from the company, informing them about a data leak.

Amazon mail to affected customers was, "Hello, We're contacting you to let you know that our website inadvertently disclosed your email address due to a technical error. The issue has been fixed. This is not a result of anything you have done, and there is no need for you to change your password or take any other action."

The company has sent messages to the affected customers blaming a "technical issue" that caused the disclosure and said that the issue has now been fixed.

In a statement, The Verge says that Amazon has not revealed the number of accounts that were affected but Twitter users across Europe and the US have reported to have received the email.
