Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin said on Wednesday there was no indication of any cyber attack after the company experienced a major outage across its mobile and internet networks.

Millions of Australians were left without a phone or internet connection on Wednesday after the country's second-largest telecommunications provider experienced an unexplained nationwide outage.

Optus, the Australian unit of telecoms firm Singapore Telecommunications, did not specify the reason for the outage or how long it would take to be restored.
