Hyderabad, Feb 29, 2024: The Atal Incubation Centre - Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology celebrated the successful completion of its Corporate Social Responsibility program sponsored by the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL). The COVID-19 Technology Deployment (COVITED) Acceleration Program was initiated in 2021 during the second wave to enable startups to accelerate pandemic-related healthcare innovations, which would reach the public faster. SPMCIL pledged Rs. 2.36 crore toward conducting 4 cycles of the acceleration program. Together, it has impacted almost 30 startups, of which 8 received funding support.

Mr. Vijay Rajan Singh (Chairman & Managing Director, SPMCIL) graced the valedictory closing ceremony as the Chief Guest along with Mr. Ajit Rangnekar (Chief Innovation Officer, Telangana) and Dr. Vinay Nandicoori (Director, CCMB). Mr. Singh said, “AIC-CCMB’s exceptional work persuaded us to allocate funds to support their cause, a decision that brings us great satisfaction”. Adding to this, Mr. Rangnekar commented that the direction of CSR funds toward life sciences innovations is rare and highly necessary. “COVITED has established a robust infrastructure that can flexibly pivot to assist in crises of any nature”, he said. The AIC-CCMB team of Dr. Madhusudhana Rao (Chief Executive Officer), Dr. Ramjee Pallela (Chief Operating Officer) and Ms. Ritika Marampalli (Head, Corporate Relations) presented the CSR project report before the gathering. Dr. Rao expressed gratitude for SPMCIL's invaluable contributions and vision in fostering a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem during challenging times. Dr. Nandicoori commended the joint efforts by SPMCIL and AIC-CCMB in delivering a transformative and holistic societal impact. The healthcare products developed as a part of this program touched several thousand lives and a few hundred clinics spread across the nation. A technology showcase at CCMB featuring COVITED-supported startups, enthusiastically visited by students and staff of CCMB concluded the eventful day.
