In a significant move to boost technological collaboration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump announced transformative initiatives between India and the United States at the White House. The talks centered around Artificial Intelligence, semiconductors, and next-generation technology infrastructure, underlined by the launch of the US-India TRUST initiative and INDUS Innovation.
The US-India Transforming the Relationship Utilising Strategic Technology (TRUST) initiative aims to forge government-to-government and academic partnerships, along with private-sector collaboration, to promote the application of critical technologies in defense, semiconductors, quantum applications, and energy, among others. The initiative also addresses security and regulatory competition in tech transfers.
Furthermore, a US-India roadmap is set to accelerate AI infrastructure development in India. The INDUS Innovation model will foster investments in space, energy, and other emerging fields, striving to maintain a leadership edge in global innovation. Both sides recognize 2025 as a pivotal year in cooperative civil space endeavors, with a focus on space exploration and technology transfer.
