In a crucial meeting held on Tuesday, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah examined the telecom and digital communications infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. The focus was on broadening services to remote villagers, dark zones, and railway tunnels, officials revealed.

The session addressed ongoing project statuses and the hurdles delaying their implementation. Abdulllah emphasized connectivity's role as a catalyst for progress, citing its importance for effective governance, quality education, healthcare access, tourism, and public welfare.

Key discussions involved expediting the BharatNet Project, which aims to bring high-speed internet to rural areas. Concerns like land allocation for telecom towers and obtaining Right of Way permissions were prioritized for resolving, alongside ensuring electricity and functional buildings for digital services.
