Tesla, led by Elon Musk, has teased a significant event slated for October 7, capturing the attention of investors and analysts longing for an affordable model to propel sales forward. The automaker shared a nine-second video on social media platform X, highlighting a vehicle's illuminated headlights in a shadowy scene.
A separate teaser video hinted at an event on Tuesday, further stirring speculation. Earlier this year, Tesla announced initial developments on a lower-cost Model Y version in the U.S., aiming for a 20% reduction in production costs compared to the updated Model Y. Sources revealed that Tesla projects a yearly production volume of approximately 250,000 units by 2026.
This announcement follows Tesla's record EV deliveries in the third quarter, spurred by heightened purchases before the U.S. EV tax credit's expiration. With the $7,500 credit ending on September 30, consumer behavior and Tesla's pricing strategy may undergo substantial shifts.
