JSW MG Motor India is set to introduce four new vehicle models this year, among them a plug-in hybrid SUV, to spearhead its growth trajectory. This follows the company's unveiled five-year strategy to boost its operation, according to Managing Director Anurag Mehrotra.
The company is scaling up its production capacity from 1.2 lakh to 3 lakh units annually and is ramping up localization efforts, signifying a Rs 5,000 crore investment. This capital will be allocated towards plant expansion, new products, and driving localization, Mehrotra shared in a recent interview.
JSW MG Motor India, a joint venture between SAIC and JSW Group, expects to unveil the 'MAJESTOR' SUV by mid-year, with subsequent launches planned throughout the calendar year. Mehrotra also highlighted optimistic industry growth projections, spurred by tax reforms and a burgeoning electric vehicle market.
