India's Technological Surge: From Gene to Qubit

Union Minister Jitendra Singh outlines India's comprehensive growth in technology, highlighting advancements from biotechnology to space exploration. The country's Global Innovation Index ranking has significantly improved, supported by policy reforms and a robust innovation ecosystem. The goal is to position India as a top-tier global bio-economy by 2047.

In a keynote address at IIT Roorkee's International Conference titled 'Vision 2047: Prosperous and Great Bharat 2.0', Union Minister Jitendra Singh highlighted India's significant strides in technology, spanning from biotechnology to space research.

Singh emphasized that India's Global Innovation Index ranking has leaped from 81 to 39, alongside a doubling of research and development investments in the last decade. This progress reflects India's prioritization of science and innovation.

He also noted that the new BioE3 Policy signifies a pivotal shift towards bio-manufacturing, with aims to elevate India's bio-economy to USD 300 billion by 2030. By 2047, India aspires to be among the top three global bio-economies, supported by innovations like Genome India and indigenous CAR-T cell therapy.
