Tunisia to launch first satellite in association with Russian operator

Tunisia is on the verge of orbiting its satellite in space. The North African country-based Telnet has officially ventured into a contract with a Russian operator GK Launch Services to accomplish the project.

A special ceremony was raised at the Digital Research Center in Sfax on April that witnessed the signing contract between Telnet and Soyuz-2-rocket operator, GK Launch Services. Chief Executive Officer of Telnet, Mohamed Frikha and his Russian counterpart, Alexander Serkin were present in the ceremony.

Tunisia for the first time is going to launch a satellite. The project is a part of research and innovations for testing new concepts and technologies. The Sfax Digital Research Center has signed an agreement with Russia on cooperation in the air and space industry, as reported by Tass.
