MIT-IBM creates AI tool that can detect, create fake images

Researchers from MIT and IBM have created an Artificial Intelligence system that can generate photographic images from scratch. Along with this, it can also intelligently edit objects inside them. This is going to be beneficial for the artists and designers, the technology also offers insight into how neural networks learn context and aid in spotting fake or altered images.

The tool named as GANPaint Studio uses an encoder and image specific fine-tuning to ingest the image into GANPaint and lets the user draw with semantic brushes. The details of the tool came in after MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab tweeted about this new tool saying, "Introducing GanPaint Studio, an AI painting tool that takes a common sense approach to adding objects and scenery to photos."
