Poco F2 against Redmi K20? Xiaomi likely to spice things up with better processor

Xiaomi had surprised the whole industry when they unveiled the Poco F1 that shipped with flagship-level hardware but at mid-range prices and it was something no one had done before. Since then, Xiaomi has never shied away from dropping away hints about an upgraded generation of Poco F1, often dubbed as Poco F2. The Chinese tech giant has now unveiled Redmi K20 and K20 pro in the similar price range and analysts say that Poco F2 doesn't make sense anymore but looking at the history of Xiaomi's product range, the company is not new to pegging two of its own devices against each other.

Even when the Poco F1 was launched people raised questions that it was in direct competition with company's flagship Mi 8 but that never stopped Xiaomi from putting both of them out in the market and both of them were successful.

Poco F1 was all about performance, it had the flagship-level Snapdragon 845 processor but lacked a bit in the looks department. Redmi K20, on the other hand, is more about looks. It has the Snapdragon 730, with the popup camera and an amazing display. Not saying that Redmi K20 lacks anything in the performance but the latest flagship-level Snapdragon 855 processor could have taken it up a notch. Redmi K20 pro starts at Rs 21,999 and is available on Flipkart and Mi Store but is limited to flash sales for now.

Poco F2 might do just that, it might bring in Snapdragon 855 (or even 855 plus) at a similar price but might leave out the pop-up camera like that of Redmi K20, making it a good alternative for those who want flagship-level performance in mid-range prices.

However, there might not be as many versions of Poco F2 as there are of F1 because Xiaomi might not want it to compete with the Redmi K20 pro.
