India at par with the rest of the world in next generation technologies: Dr. Singh

Today, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted the impending establishment of India's National Research Foundation (Anusadhan NRF) as a monumental leap forward in the realm of research and development. During a meeting with Dr. Sethuraman Panchnathan, Director of the U.S. National Science Foundation, who is currently visiting India, Dr. Singh emphasized that once operational, NRF will act as a pivotal platform facilitating seamless integration between public and private sectors, including academia and industry.

Dr. Jitendra Singh underscored that India possesses abundant scientific talent, but what has been lacking is a conducive ecosystem to nurture and advance science and technology. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for revolutionizing this landscape, propelling India to the forefront of global innovation.

Highlighting government initiatives, Dr. Singh mentioned the formulation of the National Geospatial Policy and the relaxation of drone regulations to bolster the private sector's participation in technological advancements. He outlined NRF's role in scaling up research and development efforts, fostering collaborations across sectors, and catalyzing multinational partnerships to drive world-class technological innovations.

The Minister also celebrated the liberalization of India's space sector, which has seen a surge in startups contributing significantly to space technology innovations. He emphasized India's strides in emerging fields such as AI/ML and quantum technologies, positioning the country competitively on the global stage.

Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed optimism about India's research momentum under PM Modi's guidance, foreseeing its ascent from the world's fifth-largest economy to higher rankings. He discussed avenues for enhanced scientific collaboration across diverse domains.
