Cardamom prices dropped by Rs 22 to Rs 1,335 per kg in futures market today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid easing demand at spot market.

Besides, sufficient stocks on higher arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions weighed on the prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October declined by Rs 22, or 1.62 percent, to Rs 1,335 per kg in a business turnover of 21 lots.

The spice for delivery in September was trading down by Rs 14.40, or 1.06 percent, to Rs 1,345 per kg, with a trading volume of 4 lots.

Traders said participants offloaded positions amid sluggish demand at spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions.
