German ministry orders SEFE to increase gas storage, Handelsblatt says

​Germany's economy ‌minister has ​instructed state-owned gas ‌importer SEFE to increase its natural gas ‌storage level in ‌response to rising geopolitical risks, newspaper Handelsblatt ⁠reported ​on Wednesday. Chancellor ⁠Friedrich Merz also backed ⁠the move by ​Minister Katherina Reiche, the ⁠paper said, citing ministry ⁠sources.

The ​ministry and SEFE did ⁠not immediately respond ⁠to requests ⁠for comment.
