The Delhi Traffic Police have recorded a significant surge in lane discipline violations, booking over 2,500 motorists till June 15, 2024. According to officials, this figure represents a staggering 252% increase compared to the previous year.
Notably, the IGI Airport circle witnessed the highest number of challans at 572, followed by Mayur Vihar and Madhu Vihar circles with 344 and 339 violations, respectively. Authorities attribute this spike to intensified surveillance and stricter enforcement measures aimed at promoting road safety and alleviating traffic congestion.
By pinpointing regions with the highest incidents of non-compliance, this strategic approach enables the Traffic Police to focus their efforts, ensuring better adherence to lane driving rules and contributing to safer roads in Delhi.
