The Delhi government initiated the trial run of its mohalla bus service on Monday, covering two routes, as confirmed by Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot.
During a press conference, Gahlot stated that the scheme will include 2,080 buses, with 1,040 operated by the DTC and the remaining by DIMTS.
The trial routes cover Majlis Park to Pradhan Enclave and Akshardham to Mayur Vihar Phase III. Gahlot mentioned that the trial period will last a week to gather learnings and feedback before a full rollout in two to three weeks. The initiative aims to improve last-mile connectivity in Delhi.
