Delhi Metro Expands E-Auto Fleet to Enhance Last-Mile Connectivity

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to add over 1,100 electric three-wheelers to its fleet to improve last-mile connectivity. With more e-autos to be registered by August end, DMRC is collaborating with companies to operate these vehicles for better commuter services across key metro stations.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will be expanding its fleet by introducing more than 1,100 electric three-wheelers to enhance last-mile connectivity, an official announced on Wednesday.

Out of the 2,299 permits allotted by the Transport Department, approximately 1,183 e-autos have been registered, with more expected by the end of August. These vehicles will operate from 40 stations equipped with dedicated parking and charging facilities.

DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar emphasized the importance of last-mile connectivity and stated that e-autos, being more maneuverable than buses, are a suitable solution. The DMRC is partnering with companies to manage and operate these e-autos efficiently.
