Infosys Shares Soar Amid Positive Earnings and Growth Outlook
Infosys shares rose nearly 2% after reporting a 7% rise in consolidated net profit for the April-June quarter and improving its growth outlook for the financial year. The company's market valuation increased to Rs 7,44,396.43 crore, and it plans to hire 15,000-20,000 freshers this year.
Shares of Infosys ended nearly 2 per cent higher on Friday, following a positive earnings report that showed a 7 per cent rise in consolidated net profit for the April-June quarter. The IT major also raised its growth outlook for the current financial year.
The stock closed at Rs 1,792.85 on the BSE, up 1.92 per cent, after hitting a 52-week high of Rs 1,843 earlier in the day. On the NSE, Infosys shares settled at Rs 1,789.35, marking a 1.78 per cent increase.
The company's market valuation surged by Rs 13,992.35 crore to reach Rs 7,44,396.43 crore. Infosys was the top performer among BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty companies. The IT giant reported a net profit of Rs 6,368 crore for the quarter, compared to Rs 5,945 crore a year ago. Consolidated revenue rose by 3.6 per cent to Rs 39,315 crore. Aiming for further growth, Infosys plans to hire 15,000-20,000 freshers based on the year's performance.
