Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh announced on Friday the Bihar government's ambitious plans to develop its textile industry, aiming to boost the state's economy and create substantial job opportunities.

Speaking at the 'Textile Investors' Meet' in Patna, Singh emphasized Bihar's potential to generate employment in the textile sector, especially for women, who make up 70% of the workforce. He pointed out that the state's 1.5 crore 'Jeevika Didis' could play a crucial role in the industry’s growth.

Additionally, Singh mentioned upcoming plans, including a national-level handloom expo and establishing a regional office to promote Bhagalpuri silk. The event saw positive investor interest, with 22 participants committing to invest in Bihar's promising textile sector.
