Maruti Suzuki India's Stellar Q1: Profit Surges 47%
Maruti Suzuki India reported a 47% increase in net profit for Q1 FY25, reaching Rs 3,650 crore, driven by cost reduction, favourable commodity prices, and forex gains. The company sold over 5.2 lakh vehicles domestically and saw a 12% rise in exports. Its market presence remains strong, particularly in rural areas and CNG vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki India reported a remarkable 47% rise in net profit for the June quarter of FY25, reaching Rs 3,650 crore. This surge was facilitated by cost reduction measures, favourable commodity prices, and gains from foreign exchange.
The company experienced a rise in net sales, which hit Rs 33,875 crore compared to Rs 30,845 crore in the same period last year. The improvement was, however, partially countered by increased discounts, up to an average of Rs 21,700 per vehicle.
Maruti Suzuki sold 5,21,868 vehicles in Q1, with sales in the domestic market growing by 4% year-on-year. Notably, this quarter marked the first time overall CNG vehicle sales surpassed diesel. The company is optimistic about its future, focusing on rural markets and anticipating the launch of six EV models by 2031.
