Governor Approves Rs 1.3 Lakh Crore Vote-on-Account Budget for Andhra Pradesh
Governor S Abdul Nazeer has enacted an ordinance approving a Vote-on-Account budget of Rs 1.3 lakh crore for Andhra Pradesh, covering expenditures for four months. The ordinance allows fund withdrawals from the state’s Consolidated Fund and was necessitated by the absence of the state legislature’s session.
In a significant development, Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer has promulgated an ordinance that approves a Vote-on-Account budget amounting to Rs 1.3 lakh crore for the state. This financial provision covers a span of four months.
The Andhra Pradesh Appropriation (Vote-on-Account No. 2) Ordinance, 2024 has come into immediate effect, enabling the state government to withdraw funds from the Consolidated Fund of the state.
The ordinance underscores the need for a financial grant in advance, addressing the estimated expenditure for the upcoming four months of the fiscal year 2024-25. This move comes as the state legislature is not currently in session, prompting the Governor to take swift action under clause (1) of Article 213 of the Indian Constitution.
