West Bengal Government to Boost State-Run Bus Services

The West Bengal government has unveiled a new initiative to enhance state-run bus services, aiming to bolster revenue from public transport, an official revealed on Tuesday.

Directed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during a Transport Department review meeting, the plan involves raising the number of bus services.

To achieve this, the Transport Department may introduce a fourth shift for workers, if necessary. Additionally, Banerjee emphasized the need to cut government expenditure and advocated for the increased adoption of environment-friendly electric vehicles.
