AAI Reaps Rs 2,032 Crore from PPP-Leased Airports Till June

Airports Authority of India (AAI) has received Rs 2,032 crore in passenger fees from private partners managing six leased airports until June this year. These airports, leased to Adani group under a PPP model, have also led to a payment of Rs 2,758 crore in upfront fees for capital expenditure.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) accumulated passenger fees amounting to approximately Rs 2,032 crore from its private partners operating six leased airports up to June this year.

Notably, the airports at Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram, leased to the Adani group under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) since 2019, significantly contributed to this revenue stream.

In addition to passenger fees, AAI has also garnered around Rs 2,758 crore in upfront fee payments from these partners for capital expenditure. These leasing agreements aim to optimize operations, management, and development for a span of 50 years.
