Goods Train Derailment Disrupts Railway Traffic in Malda District
A goods train derailed near Kumedpur station in West Bengal's Malda district. The incident led to the blockage of the main line and disruption of rail traffic. An Accident Relief Train is working on restoring the track. Train services were affected, with several trains being cancelled, diverted, and short-terminated.

Five wagons of a loaded goods train derailed near Kumedpur station in West Bengal's Malda district, a senior official confirmed.
NFR Chief Public Relations Officer Sabyasachi De reported to PTI that the derailment took place at around 10.45 am. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The derailment resulted in a complete blockage of the main line, disrupting rail traffic between New Jalpaiguri and Katihar. An Accident Relief Train (ART) was immediately deployed from Katihar for track restoration. Stranded passenger trains were redirected towards Katihar and will resume once the tracks are cleared.
