IT giant Cognizant inaugurated its new campus in Hyderabad on Wednesday, which is anticipated to generate around 15,000 new jobs.

Spread across nearly one million square feet, the new center was opened by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who pledged full support for the company's expansion and growth in the region.

Currently, 3,46,000 employees work for the company worldwide, with 70 per cent (2,40,000) based in India, including about 57,000 in Hyderabad.

In his speech, Reddy noted that the new facility is set to make Hyderabad the largest hub for Cognizant in India.

Returning from his tours of the US and South Korea, where he met the Cognizant team, Reddy reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the company's growth initiatives.

The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude for the company's contributions to various social causes through its CSR activities.

'This new facility will soon make Hyderabad the largest presence for Cognizant in India. I hope you will soon grow so big you will have one lakh employees in Hyderabad,' he said.

Reddy outlined plans to develop a 'fourth city' on the city's outskirts, which he termed the 'future city,' and invited Cognizant to be a part of it.

He also shared his vision of transforming Telangana into a one trillion dollar economy over the next decade.

Emphasizing Telangana's global competitiveness, Reddy said the state aims to attract industrial investments on an international scale, not just from neighboring states.

He highlighted Hyderabad's growth and the contributions of former Chief Ministers N Chandrababu Naidu and Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to the city's development.

Reddy refuted concerns of potential investment flight to Andhra Pradesh, asserting, 'My competition is not with Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu. My competition is with the world. I have Hyderabad city with me.'

The city is home to major companies like Cognizant, which offer substantial job opportunities.

Reddy concluded by detailing the unique advantages of Hyderabad, including its Outer Ring Road (ORR), international airport, climatic conditions, law and order, and connectivity, inviting investors to invest in Telangana.
