Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has leveled sharp criticism against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'monopoly model,' alleging it has stripped jobs and harmed the country's small businesses. At a recent event hosted by the All India Professionals' Congress in Jammu, Gandhi called for the simplification of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and an opening of the banking system to small businesses as measures to foster job creation.

In a video shared on X from the 'Dogri Dham with RG' event, Gandhi highlighted frustrations among young entrepreneurs from Jammu and Kashmir, drawing a parallel to the wider struggles faced by small-business owners across India. He stated that incompetent policies like a flawed GST and demonetization have undermined India's production economy, transforming it into a consumption-driven one.

Gandhi proposed several key policy changes, including redesigned GST, banking, and technological support for MSMEs. He emphasized that linking local skills with finance and technology can lead to substantial job creation. The event saw 328 participants, mainly business owners and private sector professionals, who engaged in an open Q&A session, voicing their business challenges.
