A 23-year-old passenger, Harsha Sinha, who recently lost his job, allegedly stabbed a bus conductor in Whitefield after being asked to move away from the vehicle's door for safety reasons, police said on Wednesday. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening, has gone viral on social media platforms.

Sinha, a native of Jharkhand, was reportedly frustrated after being unemployed for about three weeks, authorities said. The confrontation occurred near the ITPL bus stop when Yogesh, a 45-year-old conductor for the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), requested him to move from the footboard to allow passengers to board and de-board safely.

The altercation escalated into violence, with Sinha allegedly pulling a knife and stabbing the conductor. He then threatened other passengers and began vandalizing the bus with a hammer. The driver, Siddalingaswamy, locked the bus door and jumped out, leaving Sinha inside. The conductor sustained injuries but is currently out of danger. Sinha has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
