A goods train experienced an unexpected disruption on the Gonda-Budhwal railway line when stray cattle hit its engine, leading to the detachment of several coaches, officials reported on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Wednesday between Maijapur and Colonelganj railway stations. The collision caused the engine's hose pipe to unlock, resulting in some coaches being left behind, according to Girish Kumar Singh, regional manager of Railways.

In an emergency response, the driver halted the train, and alerts were issued by the guard and gate man to Colonelganj Railway Station and railway control command. Swift action by railway workers ensured the coaches were rejoined, with the train back in operation within half an hour.
