The foundation stone for a new civil enclave at Darbhanga Airport has been laid, marking a significant step towards enhanced regional connectivity. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating the Rs 912-crore project, aimed at transforming the Mithila region's infrastructure.

The virtual ceremony took place on Sunday, with Prime Minister Modi officiating from Varanasi, and Chief Minister Kumar participating from Patna. The project is expected to boost development in north Bihar and enhance the current passenger capacity at Darbhanga Airport.

According to the Chief Minister's Office, the state government has already allocated 76.65 acres of land for the project. With plans to increase the number of flights from 10 to 50 per day, the enclave is set to become a pivotal transport hub in the region, fostering economic growth and connectivity.
