Bomb Threat Hoax Disrupts Cochin Airport Operations

A passenger was detained at Cochin International Airport following an alleged bomb threat, according to airport authorities. The threat, which turned out to be a hoax, was made verbally by Vijay Mandhayan during a check for a Vistara flight to Mumbai.
Cochin International Airport Limited reported that Mandhayan casually remarked that he was carrying a live bomb. The incident prompted the formation of a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee, which found the threat to be non-specific.
Despite the scare, the flight departed at 4.19 pm, just under 30 minutes after its scheduled time. Nedumbassery police have launched an inquiry into the matter.
