Petronet LNG Limited is reinforcing its efforts to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) to meet India's increasing energy needs, as announced by the company's Managing Director and CEO, Akshay Kumar Singh. Speaking at the India Energy Week 2025 in New Delhi, Singh underlined Petronet's crucial role in safeguarding the nation's natural gas supply.

Singh revealed that Petronet is responsible for managing approximately 70-75% of India's total LNG imports. The company is expanding the Dahej LNG terminal in Gujarat, the world's busiest terminal, with an additional 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) capacity.

Furthermore, Singh announced plans for a third LNG terminal on the east coast in Gopalpur, Odisha, which will complement existing facilities in Dahej and Kochi, thus enhancing India's LNG infrastructure. The India Energy Week 2025, which concluded today, highlighted major agreements to secure LNG and oil supplies, with a focus on renewable energy collaborations.
