The Railway Ministry has launched an initiative aimed at improving air conditioning systems in train engines across all 17 zones, as part of efforts to enhance safety and work conditions for running staff this summer.
According to a written directive sent to all zones, the ministry has emphasized the need for effective Cab AC systems during the heatwave, advising zones that no locomotive should depart from base sheds with faulty air conditioning.
The All India Loco Running Staff Association has praised the move, highlighting the ministry's proactive steps toward bettering the conditions for train crew and expecting further improvements in locomotive cabins in the future.
