A fatal collision on the Solapur-Dhule highway in Maharashtra claimed the lives of a Hyderabad couple and injured five others, including three children, on Sunday night, said police.

The victims were traveling to the holy town of Shirdi when their vehicle collided with a truck around 11:30 PM in Ambad tehsil.

The severe impact led to the car being mangled, complicating rescue operations. Police utilized a JCB machine to extricate the deceased, identified as G. Ram and G. Madhuri. The truck driver fled the scene, according to authorities.
