Centre Boosts Uttarakhand Infrastructure with Rs 615 Crore Assistance

The Central Government has allocated Rs 615 crore to Uttarakhand for infrastructure development across 37 projects, following a meeting between Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The financial aid will support various sectors, including medical colleges, drinking water projects, education, and transportation infrastructure.

The Centre has sanctioned Rs 615 crore to support the development of infrastructure in Uttarakhand, targeting 37 distinct projects in multiple sectors. This financial boost follows the recent appeal by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for enhanced infrastructure funding.

According to an official statement, Rs 380.20 crore has already been disbursed as an initial instalment. The financial package falls under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, marking a significant infusion aimed at bolstering the state's infrastructure for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

Funding allocations include Rs 218.45 crore for government medical colleges, Rs 70 crore for the Song Dam drinking water project, and Rs 218.45 crore for ghats and a canal bypass road. The projects span education, energy supply, urban development, and more, reflecting a comprehensive approach to state development.
