India has emerged as a pivotal player in the expansive India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), highlighting its crucial role in global trade, energy distribution, and data connectivity. As part of IMEC, India will connect the Middle East and Europe through extensive road, rail, and shipping networks, enhancing regional integration.
In a recent interview with PTI, Italy's special envoy Francesco Talo' emphasized the strategic importance of India, notably in digital and energy sectors. The initiative, firmed up during the G20 Summit, seeks to harness India's vast market and production capabilities, underlining its integral role in this ambitious project.
Furthermore, the IMEC project anticipates the doubling of trade between India and the EU over the next decade, bolstering energy and data connectivity. As discussions progress, special envoys focus on leveraging India's potential to produce and export green hydrogen, catering to global energy demands.
