In a bid to boost women's participation in the workforce, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled a new loan scheme aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs. The program offers loans up to Rs 10 crore without requiring collateral, targeting the growth of women-led businesses.
Speaking at the launch event for the 'Enhancing Female Entrepreneurs in the MSME Sector in India' report by the Pahle India Foundation, Gupta highlighted the transformative potential of engaging women in the economy. Previously seen as a liability, India's vast population can turn into an asset, she emphasized, through women's empowerment.
This 'golden era' of women's empowerment, as Gupta described it, is backed by government initiatives encouraging women to realize their entrepreneurial potential. Gupta underlined the crucial need for every societal member to contribute to national development, quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's emphasis on inclusive progress.
