TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology (TCL CSOT), based in Guangzhou, China, has announced the groundbreaking of the world's first 8.6-generation Inkjet Printing OLED production line. Known as project 't8', this advanced facility aims to cement TCL's leadership in the global display industry.
Set to produce 22.5 thousand sheets monthly, the t8 line will cater to high-end display needs for devices such as tablets and laptops, underlining TCL CSOT's ambition to dominate the premium segments in display technology. A substantial $4 billion investment powers this initiative, integrating the entire production value chain.
Professor Sir Richard Henry Friend of the University of Cambridge praised TCL's pioneering efforts in OLED technology. Meanwhile, the global OLED market is poised for robust growth, with AMOLED shipments projected to rise sharply by 2030. TCL CSOT's strategic R&D focus underscores its transformation from follower to industry innovator.
