Amazon India Boosts E-commerce Exports with Government Partnership

Amazon Global Selling India partners with the government to enhance the e-commerce export ecosystem, signing new MoUs with export and MSME bodies. Amazon aims to use technology to support exporters and plans to contribute USD 80 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports by 2030.

Amazon Global Selling India has intensified its collaboration with the government to advance India's e-commerce export landscape, as revealed by Srinidhi Kalvapudi, the company's head, in an exclusive interview with ANI. The initiative includes new Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with key export and MSME bodies.

This year, Amazon signed an MoU with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), the apex export body in India. The company is organizing activities nationwide and has also inked an MoU with the Gujarat MSME Commissionerate. Kalvapudi emphasized that the partnership with the government is an ongoing endeavor, focusing on easing compliance, fostering partnerships, and maintaining a sustained presence in export clusters.

Government reforms have been instrumental in boosting e-commerce exports, with examples like the Reserve Bank's simplification of EDP compliance norms. Kalvapudi highlighted the role of AI-led technology in supporting exporters, as Amazon Global Selling offers Indian MSMEs access to over 18 international marketplaces. Despite challenges like compliance and logistics, Amazon is committed to working closely with authorities and industry partners, aiming for a significant contribution to India's USD 1 trillion export target by 2030.
