In a tragic incident in Pakistan's Punjab province, three motorway police officers were killed in a road accident near Bahawalpur. The accident, which took place around 400 km from Lahore, occurred late Monday night when a bus collided with the officers' patrol vehicle.
According to a motorway police spokesperson, the bus driver lost control due to overspeeding, leading to the fatal collision on the Multan-Sukkur motorway. All three officers died on the spot. The bus driver has been arrested, and authorities are investigating whether he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Federal Minister for Communications, Aleem Khan, attended the officers' funeral prayers and ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the accident. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her condolences to the families of the deceased officers, highlighting the profound loss.
