Sebi Welcomes Sandip Pradhan as Whole Time Member

Sandip Pradhan has been appointed as a Whole Time Member at Sebi, overseeing various critical departments. With over 35 years in the income tax sector, Pradhan brings significant experience, having also contributed to sports development in India. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur.

India's market regulator, Sebi, announced the appointment of Sandip Pradhan as its Whole Time Member. Pradhan began his term on December 4, taking on roles in the regulation and supervision of market intermediaries and overseeing departments such as Alternative Investment Funds, Foreign Portfolio Investors, and the IT division.

With a career in the income tax department that spans over three and a half decades, Pradhan served as the Director General of Income Tax (Investigation) in Pune prior to this appointment. His vast experience includes roles in investigation, assessment, administration, and judicial matters across several prominent Indian cities.

A Computer Science graduate from IIT Kanpur, Pradhan is also notable for his contributions to India's sports sector. In previous roles, he served as Director General of the Sports Authority of Gujarat and India, spearheading initiatives like the Khelo India Scheme and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme.
