In an exciting development for Delhi's tourism scene, double-decker buses are making a comeback. Set to traverse roads leading to iconic sites such as the National War Memorial and Bharat Mandapam, these vehicles are expected to offer a captivating travel experience for both locals and visitors.
The initiative, featuring electric buses supplied by Ashok Leyland under a CSR project, is being spearheaded by the city's transport and tourism departments. Previously stationed at Okhla depot, one bus has now been entrusted to the tourism department and is poised to offer evening tours imminently.
Anticipating high interest from both foreign tourists and residents, the bus tours are likely to begin from the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya. With fares set at Rs 500 for adults and Rs 300 for children, the plan aims to provide affordable access to Delhi's rich historical sites, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide.
