Flight Turbulence: IndiGo Chaos Impacts Goa Tourism

At least 14 domestic flights operated by IndiGo from Goa's Dabolim airport were cancelled on Saturday, leading to significant disruptions. The ongoing chaos in the airline's operations has left passengers stranded and worried stakeholders in Goa's tourism industry.

With 14 flights to destinations like Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Delhi affected, passengers were advised to verify their flight status before heading to the airport. The timing of these disruptions is critical as it coincides with the peak tourism season in the coastal state.

Despite temporary relief measures rolled out by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to assist IndiGo, there has been strong pushback from the Airlines' Pilots Association (ALPA) India, citing safety concerns and regulatory inconsistencies. Concerns were raised in a high-level meeting convened by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which has since put the revised flight duty time limitations in abeyance.
