In response to the recent IndiGo flight disruptions, Tata Group-owned Air India has announced measures to aid affected travelers. The airline introduced a special waiver on change or cancellation fees for eligible domestic bookings.

Air India stated that, along with its subsidiary Air India Express, they have proactively capped economy airfares on non-stop domestic flights. This move is aimed at preventing the usual demand-supply dynamics typically managed by automated revenue management systems.

Moreover, both carriers are ensuring compliance with the Civil Aviation Ministry's latest directive on airfare caps. Travelers who booked flights by December 4 for travel until December 15 can reschedule or cancel without fees until December 8, 2025. Fare differences, where applicable, will apply during rescheduling.
