In response to significant disruptions affecting IndiGo flights, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a show cause notice to the airline's CEO, Pieter Elbers. Sources reveal that the regulatory body is seeking an explanation for the extensive flight cancellations and delays witnessed over the past five days.
According to the DGCA's notice, these operational failures suggest significant lapses in planning, oversight, and resource management at IndiGo. The notice emphasized the need for CEO Elbers to take responsibility for ensuring effective airline management and the timely provision of necessary facilities for passengers.
Furthermore, the DGCA pointed to inadequate arrangements for the implementation of the approved Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) scheme as a primary cause of the flight disruptions. IndiGo's Accountable Manager has also received a show cause notice, with the DGCA demanding Elbers respond within 24 hours.
