In a strategic move, Bartronics India Ltd, a listed fintech firm, will acquire a 51 percent stake in Bengaluru's AYOU. The latter procures fruits and vegetables to serve modern retail and quick e-commerce platforms.
According to a regulatory filing revealed Monday, Bartronics has secured board approval for the acquisition of AYOU, a fresh produce brand managed by Shree NagaNarasimha Pvt Ltd in Bengaluru. However, the Hyderabad-based fintech company did not disclose the financial details of this acquisition.
AYOU is notable for its direct sourcing from farmers and collection centers, coupled with grading and processing operations. It runs a significant 6,000-square-foot facility capable of handling 900 tonnes of produce monthly. This development aligns with Bartronics' broader mission to expand digital banking access in India's rural and semi-urban areas.
