A deadly crane collapse in Samut Sakhon province, Thailand, on Thursday killed two people and injured five, local police reported. The incident took place during the construction of an elevated highway, when the crane fell onto the road, crushing two vehicles.
This tragedy follows another crane-related disaster in Nakhon Ratchasima province a day earlier, which resulted in the deaths of 32 train passengers. Sixty-six others were injured in the train derailment, which was also linked to a construction project mishap.
Both incidents have raised concerns about safety in Thailand's booming construction industry, as authorities launch investigations into the accidents to prevent future occurrences.
