India and the United States are currently engaged in negotiations with the aim of establishing a new trade deal, according to Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal. Discussions have continued amid positive growth in India's exports to the US, despite existing high tariffs.
"Both sides are actively engaged in talks, and there is optimism about reaching a trade agreement," Secretary Agrawal stated to reporters.
In support of ongoing negotiations, a virtual meeting took place last December between India's Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and the United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, indicating both nations' commitment to strengthening economic ties.
