India's textile and apparel exports have shown remarkable resilience, continuing to grow for the second consecutive month in December, despite facing a challenging global trade environment and a 50 percent tariff from the US, India's largest export market for this sector.

December 2025 saw a 0.40 percent increase in exports to USD 3.27 billion compared to the previous year, building on strong growth in November. The sector's adaptability, broad market presence, and strengths in value-added and labor-intensive segments drive this positive trend, according to the Textile Ministry.

Exemplifying India's competitive advantage, growth was broad-based across key exports, with handicrafts, ready-made garments, and MMF yarn leading the way. On a broader view, the sector demonstrated resilience through strategic market diversification and continued export expansion into 118 countries, reinforcing India's standing as a global textile hub.
