Infrastructure Minister Matteo Salvini stated on Friday that while the demands of workers are acknowledged, the seamless operation of this global spectacle must be prioritized. Salvini characterized the Olympics as "an extraordinary event of global importance," underscoring the rationale behind the ban.

The Winter Games, hosted in Milan and several alpine resorts, witness significant challenges, including a sabotage incident on February 7, which disrupted national train services. The attacks were claimed by an anarchist group. These disruptions highlight the ongoing tensions affecting infrastructure during the Olympics.
